The members of the Riverwest Health Initiative believe that neighborhood safety has a direct impact on the health and well-being of a community.
We also believe that neighbors can take positive action to improve neighborhood safety and keep Riverwest a "great place to live.”
There is a lot you can do to make Riverwest a safe and friendly neighborhood.
Why not have a block party?
It’s a great way to meet your neighbors and have fun too.
It’s also really easy.
Just go to www.mpw.net/Pages/faq1.htm for information and download an application from the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works. You can also contact your alderperson directly for assistance by calling 286-2221. Or, call the Riverwest Health Initiative for a free “block party kit” delivered right to your door.
Community Partners is part of Safe and Sound, a community organization working to make Milwaukee a safe community for families. Leigh is the Community Partner for Riverwest. She is available to help residents start a block watch, organize a clean-up or listen to your concerns about neighborhood safety. Call Leigh at 221-6707 for assistance.
Would you like to meet the Community Liaison Officer for Riverwest? Want to know more about crime statistics for this area? Come to a Crime Reduction Meeting, the first Thursday of every month at 5:30. Location changes, so check the 5th District website at www.city.milwaukee.gov/DistrictFive/375.htm or call Officer Ray Robakowski at 935-7258 for details.
